Muonio

The Muonio Production Incentive offers audiovisual productions a reimbursement of up to 10% of eligible costs incurred within the Municipality of Muonio. This incentive is designed to support productions that bring direct economic activity to the region, create employment opportunities for local residents, and contribute to the development of Muonio’s audiovisual infrastructure and expertise. By attracting productions year-round, the incentive also strengthens the visibility and appeal of the area as a filming location.

The incentive is granted on a discretionary basis and awarded as a subsidy within the limits of the municipality’s annual budget. It supports Muonio’s broader strategy to diversify its economy and encourage sustainable, year-round business. Productions interested in applying are encouraged to contact local representatives early in the planning process.

Inari

The Inari Production Incentive offers a 10–15% rebate on eligible expenses incurred by audiovisual productions filmed in the Municipality of Inari. The base incentive is a discretionary 10% rebate, with an additional 5% available for productions that contribute to year-round activity or secure international distribution outside the Nordic countries. The incentive supports both domestic and international productions across film, TV drama, entertainment, and documentary formats.

The program aims to boost the local economy, employ local professionals, and strengthen Inari’s audiovisual infrastructure and expertise. It also contributes to the municipality’s strategic goal of promoting sustainable, year-round economic development and increasing Inari’s visibility as a filming location in the Arctic region. Productions are encouraged to contact local authorities early to explore eligibility and application procedures.
